Crash of Nations?

Written by Luveaucek at 02:40 6/5-2011

After a surprising climbing result in Castelo Branco, the team landed in various South American locations for tomorrows events. Damario has his final prep race before Perm in Buenos Aires, and Desmond and Pomeroy are set to face off at the CoN race in Rio de Janeiro. With the CoN races being plagued with some surprising injuries this season, Luveaucek fans are biting their nails and crossing their fingers as they look forward to the Perm tour.

"It could be a big blow to the team if something unfortunate were to happen, but they both are in decent form. Hopefully it will be just another couple of races, and I wish them both success!" Wryen told reporters.

In other team news, inspired by Art Cruse's resignation and subsequent Division 9 success with Leopar, Serhiy Stark also resigned from Luveaucek this week. His presence will be greatly missed throughout the entire team. "Serhiy was closest to being the backbone of the team." Wryen stated, "He was a wonderful team mate for both the climbers, and the sprinters, in the hilly events, and, with his time trialling skills he scored many results for the team alone."

His career stats with Luveaucek were:

  Serhiy Stark - Seasons 9-16
  Wins - 5
  Second - 5
  Third - 2
  Top 4-9 - 14

  Tour results:
  Cymru Taith 4 - 21 GC
  Perm 13 - 17 GC
  Germany 14 - 31 GC
  Tweedaagse van Antwerpen 5 - 24 GC

Wryen filled Starks position, and his earlier promise to increase the rider count to 15, with two green Spaniards, Patricio Espejo and Macerio Lurdes, for the climbing team; Italian Gian Mancuso, and youngster Gottfreð Uggisson, from the Faroe Islands, for the sprinting team. It is rumored that he is recruiting an additional rider also, but it's too early to confirm any signing at the current moment.
